Spring 2017 Semester
Groups start January 29th
The 2017 Spring Semester starts January 29th. You can sign up for a group starting Sunday, January 8th, at the Resource Center in the church lobby.
Timeline for Spring 2017 Semester
- January 8th - Signups begin
- January 29th - Groups start
- March & April - NLG Outreach Projects Months
- April 30th - Last week for Fall Semester
The three-fold purpose of these small groups is:
- assimilate new attendees and members.
- minister more directly to the needs of our people in areas that interest them.
- encourage the spiritual development of our future leaders.
Regular Sunday School will continue the same, but those desiring to participate in a New Life Group in an area that interests them are welcome to do so. The curriculum is DVD and discussion driven unlike the regular classroom setting. A small group setting encourages each participant to share and share alike around what they are learning and experiencing together.
It is our hope through New Life Groups (NLGs) we can more fully experience our new life in Christ and embrace the "It's A New Day" vision God has given us as a church.
NLGs are for up to 12 people who meet on Sundays at 9:15 am or 5:30 pm each week. They are a great way to have fun, learn, and meet new people. You can choose whatever group best suits you.
NLGs are offered twice a year and meet for approximately 9 weeks - once at the beginning of the year and once in the fall. There's no long-term commitment to a specific topic or group. You can study on marriage one semester then find out about Paul's letters to the churches the next. Several topics are offered each semester so there's bound to be something for everyone!
The Circle Maker - by Mark Batterson

According to Pastor Mark Batterson in his book, The Circle Maker, “Drawing prayer circles around our dreams isn’t just a mechanism whereby we accomplish great things for God. It’s a mechanism whereby God accomplishes great things in us.” Do you ever sense that there’s far more to prayer, and to God’s vision for your life, than what you’re experiencing? It’s time you learned from the legend of Honi the Circle Maker―a man bold enough to draw a circle in the sand and not budge from inside it until God answered his prayers for his people.
What impossibly big dream is God calling you to draw a prayer circle around? Sharing inspiring stories from his own experiences as a circle maker, Mark Batterson will help you uncover your heart’s deepest desires and God-given dreams and unleash them through the kind of audacious prayer that God delights to answer..

Crazy Love - by Francis Chan
Hosted by Chuck Provance
Meets on Sundays at 5:30 pm. - 10 weeks
It's crazy, if you think about it. The God of the universe—the Creator of nitrogen and pine needles, galaxies and E-minor—loves us with a radical, unconditional, self-sacrificing love. And what is our typical response? We go to church, sing songs, and try not to cuss.
Whether you've verbalized it yet or not, we all know something's wrong.
Does something deep inside your heart long to break free from the status quo? Are you hungry for an authentic faith that addresses the problems of our world with tangible, even radical, solutions? God is calling you to a passionate love relationships with Himself. Because the answer to religious complacency isn't working harder at a list of do's and don'ts—it's falling in love with God. And once you encounter His love, as Francis describes it, you will never be the same. Because when you're wildly in love with someone, it changes everything.
Forgotten God - by Francis Chan
Hosted by Kent & Debbie Luke
Meets on Sundays at 5:30 pm. - 7 weeks
In the name of the Father, the Son, and ... the Holy Spirit. We pray in the name of all three, but how often do we live with an awareness of only the first two? As Jesus ascended into heaven, He promised to send the Holy Spirit—the Helper—so that we could be true and living witnesses for Christ. Unfortunately, today's church has admired the gift but neglected to open it.
Francis Chan rips away paper and bows to get at the true source of the church's power—the Holy Spirit. Chan contends that we've ignored the Spirit for far too long, and we are reaping the disastrous results. Thorough scriptural support and compelling narrative form Chan's invitation to stop and remember the One we've forgotten, the Spirit of the living God.
Agents of Babylon - by Dr David Jeremiah
Hosted by David Blalock
Meets on Sundays at 5:30 pm. - 12 weeks
Daniel, a young man taken as a captive to Babylon in 605 B.C., didn’t think of himself as a prophet until God began speaking to him in dreams, visions, and wise understandings that came true. Some things he prophesied came true in his lifetime and shortly after he died, which gives us great confidence about those prophecies yet to be fulfilled.
Daniel’s prophecies were delivered to and through a cast of characters that Dr. David Jeremiah calls, “the agents of Babylon.” The agents were kings and rulers, royal counselors, animals, angels both good and evil, and inanimate objects like trees and statues. All play a part in the unfolding story of Daniel in Babylon.
In Agents of Babylon, Pastor Jeremiah introduces the agents and the role they played in the most exciting prophetic book in the Old Testament. As prophecy after prophecy of Daniel is fulfilled during and shortly after his lifetime, our confidence grows that the remaining prophecies God gave him will be fulfilled in the future.
